Here’s some food for thought regarding the “bigger is better” mentality some authors have about social networking, friends, followers, and online promotion:ragrani.ru

The more people you know, the less you know them. If you have 50,000 friends online, how can you possibly manage those relationships? The answer is, you can’t.

Stop thinking about the numbers! The whole point of social media is to cultivate relationships with your market; it’s not a popularity contest.

Concentrate on developing a rapport with people who engage with you online. The numbers will take care of themselves.

  1. I believe that Internet Marketing Millionaire John Reese is the smartest person around when it comes to Facebook and Twitter.

    John Reese recently killed his Twitter account with 25,000 followers and his Facebook account with 5,000 “friends.”

    More does not mean better.

    As John said, “I was spending a lot of my time filtering through information about tons of people that I didn’t care about.”

    Fact is, Facebook and Twitter are big time wasters for the majority of people and will be big reasons why people don’t accomplish something important in their lives such as writing a book and making it a true bestseller (at least 100,000 copies sold).

    Also, Facebook and Twitter are not even close to being the great marketing tools that “social media experts” claim they are.

    In short, people who are truly successful in marketing themselves and their books are willing to try new and different techniques.

    They create their own unique marketing techniques instead of following the current trend that the uncreative people are following.
